At the age of 18 John MacArthur had his sights set on being an American Football player but God had other plans.
He was involved in an a horrific car accident which ejected him and caused the car to roll at 65-70 mph, he slid over 100 yards on the motorway and suffered severe burns and friction wounds, leaving him bed ridden for months.
MacArthur considered this a key point in his growth in Christ- nothing like an accident like this to show your life is but a vapour!
MacArthur turned out to be one of the best pastors the USA has ever had!
This incident shows God's sovereignty and that the reason we are breathing now is only because of his grace and purposes for us.
