Jesus Christ is God
When you are dealing with the cults such as the JW's, they will always challenge you regarding the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. Here are some of the best Scriptures to use against these heretics...
1 John 5:7 - For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Philippians 2:5-11 - Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
John 10:30-33 - I and my Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
The word Godhead occurs 3x in the Scriptures - Acts 17:29, Romans 1:20, Colossians 2:9. It is also very interesting that the words Almighty God appear 3x in the Scriptures - Genesis 17:1, Ezekiel 10:5, Revelation 19:15.
Who raised Jesus from the dead? - The Father did (Galatians 1:1), Jesus raised Himself (John 2:19-21) and the Holy Spirit raised Him (Romans 8:11).
Jesus Christ IS God in the flesh - 1 Timothy 3:16 - And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Jesus Christ IS Jehovah God - note the word LORD in capitals... Zech 12:7-10 , note too the words 'I' and 'ME', Incredible! cf. Rev 1:17+18
Isa 44v6 – Note the LORD for Father and Son. Cf. Rev 1v17+18
Compare these verses regarding the Father and Son as God... Isa 8v13-15, Isa 28v16 – 1 Pet 2v8, Rom 9v33
Deut 32v3+4 – 1 Cor 10v4. The LORD is the Father, and the LORD is Jesus Christ, both are God. God the Rock is also Jesus Christ.
John 20v24-28 – Jesus accepted what Thomas said... “My Lord and my God”.
Jesus Christ had no beginning – Micah 5v2 (see how this verse is perverted in modern ‘bibles’ like the NIV etc.)
Jesus Christ wasn’t created – John 6v62
Who is the I AM? – Exo 3v14, John 8v58 (see also John 8v24+28, John 9v9, John 13v19, John
18v5+6+8) – Jesus is the I AM.
God the Father is the first and the last – Isa 44v6, Isa 48v12 but so is God the Son – Rev 1v5- 7+8+11+17, Rev 2v8, Rev 22v13
Worship only God. Yet Jesus Christ is to be worshipped – Exo 34v14 cf. Heb 1v6, Luke 4v8, Mat 2v11, Mat 28v9+10, Mark 5v6, Luke 24v52, John 9v38, Rev 5v11-14.
Not once in Scripture do we find the Lord Jesus Christ refusing worship, yet we are told to worship God only... exactly, Jesus Christ IS God (unless you’re a Bible ‘rejector/corrector’ that is).
Who can forgive sins but God? (Ps 32v5, Isa 43v25, Ps 130v3+4) – Yet Jesus forgives sins... Mark 2v5+7, Luke 5v20+24, Luke 7v48+49
1 John 2v22 Who is a liar (JW’s, Mormons, Christadelphians etc.) but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
v23 Whosoever denieth the Son, (all the cults and false religions) the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. The truth is in Jesus – Eph 4v21
Who is the Creator? The Father (Gen 1v1, Isa 44v24) yet we read that Jesus is also the Creator – John 1v1-3, Col 1v16-20, Heb 3v4.
God the Father even calls His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, God – Heb 1v8-10
Who is the Saviour? The Father (Isa 43v3+11, Isa 45v15+21, Isa 49v26, Isa 60v16, Hos 13v4) yet so is the Lord Jesus Christ – Luke 2v11, John 4v42, Phil 3v20, 1 Tim 2v3, 1 Tim 4v10, 2 Tim 1v10, Titus 1v3+4, Titus 2v10+13, 1 John 4v14
Who is the Holy One? God the Father is (2 Kings 19v22, Ps 89v18, Isa 31v1, Hos 11v9, Hab 1v12) yet so is Jesus Christ the Son – Mark 1v24, Acts 2v27, Acts 3v14
God the Father is the husband of His people in the OT – Isa 54v5, Jer 3v14, Jer 31v32
God the Son is the husband of His people in the NT – 2 Cor 11v2, Mat 25v10, John 3v29+30, Rev 19v7+9
NAME of God or ‘names’ of God – Mat 28v19. One God, yet three separate Persons (Godhead/ Trinity).
You can’t understand God ‘the Godhead/Trinity’, who can? – Eph 1v20-23, Job 11v7, Rom 11v33, Isa 40v18+25, 1 Cor 2v14, it’s a mystery (1 Tim 3v16)
Who created man? – Gen 1v26+27 - not in the image of angels - Gen 5v1, Gen 3v22, Gen 11v7 Acts 20v28 – God’s Blood (Jesus’ Blood).
Jesus Christ is the true God – 1 John 5v20, John 5v23, 1 John 2v23, John 8v24
For those of you who have not yet believed on God - The Lord Jesus Christ, now is the day of salvation. You must believe that Jesus Christ is God and that He died, was buried and rose again the third day as a payment for your sin.
Jesus said that if you don't believe that He is God, you will go to Hell: John 8:24, "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins."
Jesus Christ is alive. He has helped me. He has blessed me. All for Jesus. He is a true living savior. He's alive.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved (Acts 16:31).
In the book of Acts 4:12, the declaration of the early disciples - "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
No name but Jesus Christ. If you don't know Him yet, this is an incredible invitation that "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13).
If you don't know Him, you can call on the name of Jesus Christ who died, was buried and rose from the dead and lives right now and who is God in human flesh and who loves you and wants you. Listen, He lives and has been knocking at the door of your heart.
