Sermon Notes 01/06/25
So different layout today, my wife and I had our six year old nephew yesterday and took him to the church my wife and I (and her family) usually attend. Different because I didn't take notes on my phone as I wanted to set a good example for my nephew.
Before leaving, my sister in law packed his backpack (pop graphic design of a dinosaur wearing sunglasses) with healthy snacks and water.
My little nephew is a livewire with unlimited energy and when he isn't busy getting me to play with toys, play football with him, he enjoys other things like copying me 😂
Naturally then, I wondered how he would cope with sitting through a sermon, but despite his energy, he is actually well behaved and during the sermon he drew on envelopes, etc.
It was quite funny actually as the regular guest preacher who did the sermon was a elderly old school northerner and when he got animated my little nephew was giggling- to my nephew who uses words like " my ps" and "roadman" etc the Northerner was probably a museum exhibit from a time gone by 🤭
The sermon itself was great- it was about the 24/7 accesibility of God the Holy Spirit to us as Christians and he made a great analogy of the Holy Spirit as a dove and the dove of Genesis- Noah’s Dove: Signaled the rebirth of the earth after destruction. Spirit as Dove: Signaled the beginning of a new creation through Christ.
