Persevering in trials- and what I could have missed

Today the day where I have a meeting that will determine the ultimate status of my job- on top of our second miscarriage and our landlord kicking us out in August so he can sell the property.

It would be tempting to have just despaired and sat- but by God's grace I continued my daily Bible reading- and was rewarded in the greatest way possible.

My daily Bible reading plan for the NT took me to John 6:22-59. Wow such theological richness and depth. I started my bible reading at early 7AM and finished at 9AM. The vast majority of the time was that John reading on those verses. How? Highlighting and chewing and reflecting on them. And if that wasn't enough I had R.C. Sproul's commentary on them from my Reformation Study Bible. Read those passages and slowly chew on it- if you don't have a biblically solid commentary on those verses read Matthew Henry's commentary online for free- slowly. The verses will transform you.

Time for some comedy- it was so glad to see my wife shaking into me, not from tears this time but laughter.

I used ChatGPT to do a script from the Nigerian sitcom 'My siblings and I' where the overly dramatic and extra security guard Ubong lets in the US I'll Be Honest pastor Tim Conway through the gates of the family home.

He dramatically announces to the family, exasperated from his shenanigans, that a man of God from the USA has come to visit while wearing a tshirt saying 'Repent!' and clutching a KJV Bible. What followed in the script was pure pandemonium that had my wife and I in stitches- much needed during this time!

Ubong:
