The sermon that struck a nerve....
My Wednesday Bible study pastor very kindly sent me the sermon notes for his sermon on Ressurection Sunday so I did notes on his notes!
He told me there were some visitors and two walked out in outrage- showing the very divisive nature in how we respond to the Gospel!
. The resurrection is vital to our faith- no resurrection no Christianity- and it certainly would not have spread!
. The resurrection is a death blow to other faiths- also, man creates gods but the true Triune God creates man. The ressurection points to the fact that "Atheist" "Free thinker" or any other religion or philosophy apart from Biblical Christianity is not a viable choice!
. Christ later ascended to heaven and he reigns there- any other god from any other religion are mere pretenders to the throne.
. No time for the churchbto do awful "interfaith" talks- the ressurection has settled this matter once and for all!
. The resurrection points to the last ressurection where ALL the dead will be arised and you WILL stand alone before Christ- noone will be able to put in a good word for you- Christ knows all things!
. So reading the above- place your trust in Christ's shed blood on the cross for your sin, that is the only way you will get to heaven, otherwise you will hear the worst word you can for eternity- "depart!"
. Everyone will stand before Christ, it doesn't matter what you believe and it may happen alot sooner than you know- you don't know when you'll die! So will you place your trust in Christ's shed blood on the cross for your sin and believe Christ took the wrath you rightfully deserve or will you reject this and spend an eternity in hell to pay for your sin?
