Luke 9 and China
This morning during my Bible Study I came across Luke 9:57-62, shortly after I read the story of a Chinese brother in Christ, Ming from the 'Open Doors World Watchlist'.
Ming used to regularly load his car full of Bibles to distribute with his friends but one day the Chinese authorities caught him.
Ming lost his business and his father in law prohibits him from seeing his wife and daughter.
His response? He says: "I feel heavily the burden of taking part in the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20 which energises and encourages me to stay commited to the call of sharing the Gospel to my people".
Let us be challenged by Ming's story, what are we, in the free West, doing for Christ?
Please also pray for Ming's safety and discernment as Chinese spies often pretend to be fellow Christians.
