Federal Paper Checks Will Soon Be Obsolete

The government has been phasing out paper checks for years, now under this executive order those still receiving paper checks will have to get a bank account, like it or not.

And some don't believe, that governments are slowly eliminating cash money. Look around, spending is becoming electronic, all around.

They will be throwing their silver and gold in the streets, that means money, not jewelry or literal silver and gold because they don't use either anymore as currency.

I thought the advent of the credit card was supposed to eliminate cash? I don't think you'll ever fully get rid of cash. One time I bought a pack of gum for 0.88 cents and was lambasted over the fact that I should have given them a dollar, I said sorry but I don't carry cash. The other problem is, some businesses require you to purchase a minimum amount before using your debit card. There's a bowling alley that I go to that sometimes we get food from. They have a $10 minimum purchase; so in other words if you're not buying $10 worth of stuff pizza and sodas etc. You can't use your debit card you have to give them cash because they have to pay a fee on every debit card transaction which is why they have the minimum purchase. Cash will never ever not be a thing.

@twiigss what you say is true but that is for today. Tomorrow that problem will be solved.

As it is today a lot of things are going digital, you go online you open up an account you put money on that account to use their product or services.

Cash taxis are obsolete in many places. You pay online.

Car wash, you buy their services online.

Laundromats you buy their services online or one of their laundromat cards where you can put cash on the card.

Most self-service are for cards only, 90% card service verses 10% cash options.

And with most banks if you don't have a bank debit card you can't get any money.

The government wants to get rid of the penny, and they will. So there will be no more 88-89-99 etc cents. Decades ago they wanted to get rid of coins period, that may come back upon the table.

Today cash is still here when it all goes digital and the government and banks are working on it, if any change is due it will be digital.
