except that law has been taken away. Nailed to the Cross. That covenant is over since the people it was made with could not would not keep it. Hebrews 8:13 In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

@hippyjoe1955 Please read the sermon on the mount, we are to be loving!!

sermon on the mount

17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Murder
21 “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder,[a] and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ 22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister[c] will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’[d] is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.

23 “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, 24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.

25 “Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. 26 Truly I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.

Adultery
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’[e] 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

Divorce
31 “It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’[f] 32 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Oaths
33 “Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill to the Lord the vows you have made.’ 34 But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35 or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. 36 And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. 37 All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.[g]

Eye for Eye
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’[h] 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. 41 If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. 42 Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

Love for Enemies
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[i] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

@hippyjoe1955 This is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome. 1John 5:3,
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@Carazaa Which you are NOT doing if you are praying and prophesying with head uncovered. Paul said he was writing the commands of the LORD. One of the commands that Paul wrote was the women should cover their heads and men should uncover their heads when they pray or prophecy. When a woman preaches (writes a Christian message on SW) with her head uncovered she is being disobedient to the commands of our LORD. Don't bother trying to guilt anyone into somehow loving if you are being disobedient (not loving) of our Lord.

@hippyjoe1955

so you attack me for posting Bible verses! Either a person is born again or not.

I am born again! The Holy spirit changed my heart to know God, repent, and be loving, when I was about 7 years old. All I want is to be pleasing to God and thank him for saving me and all I want is to be of service to him and help people the best I can my whole life. Jesus tells us to share the hope that is in our hearts.

I have dedicated my life to Jesus. I am covered by the Holy spirit! I am not catholic or Eastern Orthodox religions where people work for heaven by doing this or that (the rosary, wear a head covering, sprinkle holy water, say hail Marys, pray to saints, or any other superstitions).

Jesus work on the cross paid my sins, in full! Nothing we can ever do can save us, except repent and trust in Jesus! Jesus did it all! Jesus chose me before the foundation of the world, and he is coming back very soon, in our generation, to judge the living and the dead!
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@Carazaa Actually what matters is the acknowledgement that Jesus is indeed LORD. Not just mental assent but physical action. One should be willing and able to do the small things He asks of you so that He may give you the enablement to do the great things He has planned for you. There are no short cuts. When you are stubborn as you are and simply refuse to do something simple like cover your head in prayer then you should not expect to do great things like love you neighbour. It is by His Grace not by works. You say you are born again yet there is no evidence of such an event. It would appear that you fell into the evangelical snare of reciting the sinners prayer which then makes you born again which then means you are heaven bound which means this world is no longer important. So many falsehoods in that statement. God so loved THE WORLD that He gave His only Son. We have to be about the Father's business. That includes the small stuff. I still can not for the life of me see why you want to be so contrary to putting something on your head to pray. Spiritual noncompliance indicates you are not born born again.

The Parable of the Ten Virgins- Matthew 5

“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’

7 “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’

9 “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’

10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.

11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’

12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

@Carazaa Yes those who do not follow the commands of the Lord are not part of the Kingdom. Do try to understand. Jesus is the KING. As KING He fully expects His subjects to obey His commands. He says so several times. "If you love Me you will keep my Commands". Well part of His commands were given by Paul. One of the commands as explained by Paul was that women were to cover their head in prayer and prophecy and men were to uncover their head. That you want to fight about it tells me that you are not part of the Kingdom of God. You are simply being contentious and pretending that you are all spiritual and loving. You are not. Sad to say. Now go do what the Lord commands and you will see why. Sitting here trying to sound all Christiany as you ignore the orders of the LORD of Christendom does not become one who wants to be a loving Christian. In fact it says exactly the opposite and is part of the lies of the enemy.

No, LOVE is more important Jesus says! You have no love for anyone here, you are rude and mean! Love is how we witness!

1 Cor 13
"If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing."

You are not loving you are a mean person!

@Carazaa You have no idea what I am. You think that Christianity is simply loving. It is not. It is discerning right from wrong. it is holding to the good and rejecting the evil. It is following the commands of the Lord. You simply want to short circuit things to some sort of silly feeling. Love isn't a feeling. It is an action. It is born out in what we do. How do we help the homeless, How do we help the women who have intentionally killed their babies and now regret it. How do we help the sick or the imprisoned or those who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. It is an action that is only made possible by His Spirit. We can't do it on our own and for everyone who has tried to do it on their own you will find a ruined human being as they are completely burned out and a mess. How do we stay in the Spirit? Obviously by keeping His commands. I have no idea why you won't simply put a scarf on your head when you pray. That is pure evil since the Bible tells you to do it.

@hippyjoe1955 The mark of a Godly person is LOVE!
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@Carazaa which you are not doing to Jesus if you are not keeping His commands. You have His word on it as I pointed out with actual Scripture. You are the one that brought up scripture and now you are denying what it says. Something not right with this picture. If you Love Him you will Keep His Commandments.

1 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right,
‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply,
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply,
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
