Sermon Notes 09/03/25- An English Northerner in New Mexico

. The visiting Northern pastor told us about his time at a conference in New Mexico- it was a great time of fellowship with the American brothers and sisters in Christ but at one point he was caught in a dangerous storm in his hotel which actually shook it - he got a huge sense of God's sovereignty and realised he had been coasting in his walk with God- from that day he determined he would try his best with God's help to not do that again!

. He told us another occasion he felt convicted to resign from his job and go into ministry full time. On the very day ohe was about to hand in his letter (his boss was unaware) his boss had a promotion waiting for him- double the salary and exclusive perks. He declined and handed in the letter. His bosses reaction? His boss had tears in his eyes and said: "Go and serve the Lord".

. We must remember we will all stand before Christ- imagine us getting all of our gifts from God yet explaining to Christ we never used them- Christians, use your gifts and serve the Lord!

. I NEEDED this message. At his most passionate the pastor was shouting about guilt not being from God- Godly repentance is. The pastor warned us about the devil using guilt to try and wreck our walk with God.

. On the above- he said people say stupid things. He said he's said stupid things he's regretted. He continued- we need to get over it and what we've said, press on and remember that Christ's shed blood makes our sins as if they never existed. I can't tell you how much I nedded to hear that.
