Sermon Notes 02/03/25
Today went to my former church as I am visiting family, was lovely to see and fellowship with everyone, the people who knew me since I first became a Christian (and the time later when I was first dating my now wife)!
It's an Anglican church and it honestly is nice to be reminded of my denomination from time to time 🤭
Ofcourse the service celebrated the beginning of Lent next week (I will be doing an Ash Wednesday post for other Christians like myself who observe it).
The service reflected on our Christian giving and our motives- is it simply for ourselves or is it for God's glory?
The vicar gave a great example of how NOT to give- a man once went to a church and gave a generous amount, he got annoyed because he felt he wasn't thanked properly 🤦
The sermon also focused on our own motives for giving- we need to search our hearts and ensure we give for God's glory, not so we feel good, etc.
