Musings on the morning commute
My NT reading from my Reformation Study Bible took me to a reading leaving plenty of questions/speculations today.
. Pilate's wife- She was disturbed by a dream about Jesus- did she get saved? Well according to ancient church theologians she did. Will we ever know? In eternity.
. Barabbas- Inspired by John Piper. How did Barabbas react to being released? Did he just swagger off not giving a thought about the man about to be crucified and enjoy the feast his relatives cooked for him? Did he simply feel sorry for Jesus? Or did he realise that Christ was about to die for his sins, have Godly sorrow and repent, coming home to a wife and family who are shocked to see the change God has worked in him. Will we ever know? In eternity.
. Judas's salvation- Not looking good here folks. First off my Reformation Study Bible rightly points out Judas had worldly sorrow which leads to death, not Godly sorrow. Next off- why would the Bible say it would've been better if Judas had never been born? Odd way to describe someone in heaven.
The Bible always inspires in so many ways, including such musings.
