Musings on the morning commute

My NT reading from my Reformation Study Bible took me to a reading leaving plenty of questions/speculations today.

. Pilate's wife- She was disturbed by a dream about Jesus- did she get saved? Well according to ancient church theologians she did. Will we ever know? In eternity.

. Barabbas- Inspired by John Piper. How did Barabbas react to being released? Did he just swagger off not giving a thought about the man about to be crucified and enjoy the feast his relatives cooked for him? Did he simply feel sorry for Jesus? Or did he realise that Christ was about to die for his sins, have Godly sorrow and repent, coming home to a wife and family who are shocked to see the change God has worked in him. Will we ever know? In eternity.

. Judas's salvation- Not looking good here folks. First off my Reformation Study Bible rightly points out Judas had worldly sorrow which leads to death, not Godly sorrow. Next off- why would the Bible say it would've been better if Judas had never been born? Odd way to describe someone in heaven.

The Bible always inspires in so many ways, including such musings.

God needed Judas to betray Christ so Christ could be crucified in order to save mankind and fulfil His plan. Why is Judas vilified? Without him, the central tenet of Christian religion would never have happened and mankind wouldn't be saved.

@DanielsASJ God had a plan and needed Judas to complete that plan or Christ wouldn't have been crucified. God knew exactly what would happen the moment Judas was born, so he effectively set Judas up as a patsy. Without Judas, no crucifixion. Without crucifixion, no salvation. Judas did mankind a favour.

@Richard65 God knows who we are, what we are gonna do. God just doesn't interfere unless asked. Judas behaved worst than a serpant but later, he repented. That's why he probably got heaven. He repented sin he committed.

Jesus Christ knew his sinful nature. Only that if not Jesus, he would have ditched someone else. God knows everything about us right from the birth. He repented and therefore got saved.

@DanielsASJ you have no idea if that's true. If not Judas someone else would have HAD to betray Jesus for salvation to be achieved. Jesus was born to be crucified, so he needed someone to betray him. God needed that to happen and it happened. Judas was the patsy.
