Church Vision and Prayer Request
My wife envisioned something in church last Sunday during the service that almost brought her to tears and I can say it was a great idea.
For some background- it was October 2023 on a cold morning, my wife had to take the car for a family business trip. I went to a Baptist chapel I never went too before.
Morning Bible reading was becoming monotonous, I was turning to all sorts of superstitious nonsense, etc.
I stepped into the church and introduced myself to everyone. Soon the tall, imposing pastor started his sermon and I remember the first words I heard him speak: "What kind of person would you be if you found the cure for cancer but didn't share it with anyone?" From there, God gave me a brand new passion for his word.
And the rest is history- and you get Bible Study notes! The way this pastor describes the sovereignty, majesty and glory of God is something you would need to witness in person, notes cannot do it justice.
My wife's idea? Stop going to our regular church and make the Wednesday Bible study church our Sunday one too. Bring her family with her, as they are willing, the church is in arms reach from everyone so no more excuses for them not to be in fellowship.
My wife's mum is still in a bitter mood with God but she is changing for the better, my wife's sisters just seem to have no fellowship at a Church but are professing, my brother in laws are not particularly interested.
My little nephews? Well, we will take turns each week looking after them, if it is possible, in the church rooms, when more children go, my wife really wants to be a Sunday school teacher for the children, as she is a natural with children and kids love her.
I can't wait- the pastor's 'swing a hammer around in a China shop' sermon method will really help wake them up spiritually. Hopefully my brother in laws join them and my father in law would be welcome- his Rasta hat and Bob Marley t-shirt would bring some colour to the place!
