Sermon Notes 19/01/25
Today we went to the Wednesday Bible Study church as my wife had to stay in town to help family out.
A special guest- a person who went to a seminar with my pastor did the sermon. A formal, short, thin man. Quite the contrast to the usual pastor (my favourite) who is huge, casual and tall (I have to keep straining my eyes to look up at him 🤭)
I met the guest preacher's wife while sitting down before the sermon- she was a lovely lady, and she was posh...... very posh, like Joanna Lumley posh 🤭
The message from the sermon:
. Romans 8- Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. This verse moved the pastor when he first became a preacher.
. There is a battle between our flesh and the spirit and no Christian will ever overcome this battle in this life- let us be vigilant.
. When we are struggling with sin, we must remember that our sin is AGAINST us NOT FOR us. The complete opposite of God.
. In our suffering and trials we must remember that God is FOR us. The original language of Romans, Greek, emphasises this point even more.
. Above all, in this life, let us remember that all who trust in Christ for their eternal salvation will enter the eternal dwelling of unspeakable joy, peace and happpiness.
