On Church Growth
A great article by Paul Levy from the 'Banner Of Truth' on how to deal with growing churches, something we are seeing across the world, including the UK. Yes our churches are shown by our lying media to be declining, but those are the old country churches, ones that have caved in to the ideologies of this world.
The biggest threat to growing churches is not ideologies, etc but is a simple one- distraction from being Gospel centred.
The article mentions a problem that faces growth- grumbling of the congregation- different people from different backgrounds will bring up plenty of complaints.
A great way to deal with these complaints is to put the Gospel at the forefront and to use it in addressing these complaints and only deal with the complaints that matter- maybe do an 'Acts' and have a specific person address these issues- a pastor's priority should ALWAYS be the Gospel.
The article mentions a very blunt but true point- the church grumblers heart is not focused on the eternal kingdom of Christ.
So to conclude- let us not use Satan to use situations like percieved slights, etc, etc to bring challenges to church growth- thank God for his work in church growth!
Don't be a "pastor's pet" 🤭 let the pastor talk to that new person- and let your church family friends too!
