Revelation 4:2 and Christmas thoughts
My Study Bible says this of Revelation 4:2
"One seated on the throne"
For those of us with secular families Christmas can be a distraction as it is celebrated in a secular light.
Now let's get back to the verse, it's the things and many of the above that can distract us from the real meaning of Christmas.
If you look at the descriptions of God in the Bible, it is very clear that no word can describe our Triune, thrice Holy God. And in this life we will never be able to grasp his glory.
Yet God the Son (Jesus) became man, living sinlessly (and he was the ONLY human to be sinless, no Mary was NOT sinless) in this world and suffering what we do, sharing in our feelings of sadness, joy, mourning, anxiety, etc.
Christ, God the Son, knew from eternity past that he would one day come down to earth, to suffer, die and have God's wrath (which we deserve) poured on him on the cross, so that all that accept his sacrifice and come to him will not suffer hell but will have an eternity in heaven with him, such love that never can be matched.
So this Christmas let's not give in to the many distractions and commercialisations and let us remember what it's all about- and remember, Christ will turn away No-one that comes to him.

Reminding us that his glory always exceed human comprehension
