Sermon notes 01/12/24
The service began with a song containing a statement all Christians should know:
A visiting pastor came- the Northerner who is a larger than life character! 😅
Church news featured the visit to Uganda- great work in the church there and one of the partners there does amazing work like providing much needed healthcare, etc, a great way to show Christ's love!
The sermon focused on our obedience to God's word and when we feel God calling us or giving us a nudge to do something, we do it!
Through obedience our church where we attend was built- a diverse church which largely consists of African migrants with amazing stories of faith to tell- a church well known to the community- it serves many in the community- the homeless, the refugees, the elderly and everyone else!
Ofcourse God is not a hard taskmaster who watches us and waits to accuse us WHEN we fail, Christ (God the Son) died on the cross for our sin, so that all who trust in him can fully know what "it is finished!" Means. God has infinite patience with us in our failings and will always be there to pick us back up!
The service ended with the pastor singing these words himself:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in his wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of his glory and grace
Look full in his wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of his glory and grace
