Ezekiel's dry bones
In Ezekiel, God gives us a vision of dry bones being brought back to life.
For me today this verse reminds me of revival God sends- within the church and within our own lives.
Reading about the account of the great awakening in America in the 1700s is amazing- a feature we can see is that many people became aware of the state of their souls and the preachers effectively explained the Gospel by convicting people of their sin first and then explaining the Gospel.
Another great part of the American revival was that it was obvious that there was no distinction of people- Colonists, Native Americans and African Americans all worshipped together and treated each other as family in Christ.
So as Christians, our own dry bones can be dealt with by Gospel preaching, reading God's word, attending and having fellowship at a Gospel centred church that preaches God's word and going to our triune, thrice Holy God in prayer!
