Church Notes 28/10/24
I woke up and I am now permanently awake- it literally just happened by God's grace. After living in a daze permanently I have now recovered from my degree and working full time.
For the first time in ages my wife's sisters came to church and of course brought my two little nephews- one is 5, the other is a toddler.
We arrived first and unfortunately couldn't all sit together as it was packed but we could still see each other- my toddler nephew was fascinated by the worship band and joined in clapping for them with his little hands when everyone else did.
My five year old nephew was great at keeping his cousin occupied with toys so my sister in laws (wife's sisters) could listen to the sermon!
Back to me being burnout- it was so bad I hadn't seen my wife's family for awhile as I was too tired- but you should have seen my five year old nephew's excitement as he saw me and gave me the biggest high five- it was heart warming!
After church we all went to a garden centre as my sister in law had to get some new plants, I knew my wife wanted some time with her sisters so I volunteered to look after my nephew.
My nephew spent the time charging around looking at the christmas decorations with me and then we went to a huge pond where we could feed the fish- being him he quickly got talking to the other children as they liberally hurled the feed into the pond and watched in the delight as the fish raised up to get it!
Afterwards we spent some time looking at the fish tanks- I was as fascinated as him looking at the African Dwarf Frogs!
At the end of the day he was sad to return home- it was genuinely sad as me, my brother in law (not his dad) and his grandad (wife's dad) are the only father figures he has in his life .
So now that I am back to normal energy I intend to use this energy for God's glory, I suspect my wife's family are nominal and I look forward to inviting them to Wednesday Bible Study but also helping them out- demonstrating God's love rather than just talking about it.
