The greatest love story is not in Hollywood. The greatest love story in the world is the love of Jesus Christ for sinners.
1 John 4:10 - Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
John 15:13 - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
You think anybody as love crazy as Americans are would be interested in something about love, wouldn't you? And yet they'll take any love except this one.
Stop and consider something: You don't know anybody in this world that loves you enough to die for you. You'll probably say that a few of the closest people in your life would die for you. Yeah, but they don't know everything about you. You see, the Lord Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh and he knows everything about everyone, including everyone's thoughts, yet He still left glory to be persecuted, spit on, hit, mocked, tortured and crucified for you, for everyone, even the lowest of the low; the Jeffrey Dahmer's, the Ted Bundy's, the Joseph Stalin's and the Adolf Hitlers. Not one single person on this earth would die for those people. But The Lord Jesus Christ did.
This is a love story. Now wouldn't you think that if you found somebody that loved you enough to die for your sins, wouldn't you think that they'd be interested in that?
I mean, you can travel around this world all your life and you'll find that in every love story own the face of this earth there is an element of selfishness on the part of one or both parties. I don't care how great a love it is, there is always an element of selfishness in every romantic love story on this earth. Somebody is always getting something for themselves in a human love story. I don't care who's involved with it, but there is one that is an exception, there is only one love story that is completely selfless - The Lord Jesus Christ and his love for sinners. What could he get out of that from you? Nothing. Just heartache, sorrow, pain and suffering.
Let me tell you that if you miss the love of Jesus Christ for sinners, you miss the greatest love story the world ever had to offer. If you miss God's for you as a sinner, you miss the whole thing. The rest of it just comes and goes.
Don't reject the greatest love story in the world. Now is the day of salvation. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ today.
