Ruins and backsliding
Isaiah 58:12 says "And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt".
Like lots of Isaiah this is about a backsliden people.
Maybe you are reading this right now and you are living in a way contrary to God's word, you remember the former days when your walk with the Lord was going great and you had such passion for him, but now those days feel like the ancient ruins mentioned here.
Well, you can take encouragement from this verse- what a beautiful analogy it holds- you can come back to Christ, he is waiting for you, and you can find repentance, it is never too late!
I have had several experiences with backsliding in my Christian walk- each time God has restored me and each time I have come back stronger, isn't it great we have such a forgiving and patient God?
It feels too much of a sacrifice to give up what is holding you back.... but I promise Christ will give you the water your soul needs and you will thirst no more! An infinite amount of satisfaction compared to what was holding you back.
