Padre Pio, was an Italian Capuchin, mystic and stigmatist, he is considered one of the most famous saints of the Catholic Church. He was born on May 25, 1887 in the village of Pietrelcina, Italy. From an early age he showed a deep spirituality and an interest in religious life. Padre Pio was an extraordinary man with a unique character who stood out from other saints. His life and ministry were saturated with extraordinary events, mystical experiences and miraculous events. One of the most mysterious and fascinating aspects of Padre Pio's life were the stigmata, i.e. visible wounds reminiscent of the wounds of Jesus crucified, which he carried for most of his life.

The stigmata were for him a source of pain and spiritual unity with the Passion of Jesus. Padre Pio was an extremely effective confessor who could read people's hearts and knew the secrets of souls. People from all over the world came to meet him in the confessional, and his spiritual advice had a profound impact on the lives of many. It often happened that he predicted the future, revealed the sins and intentions of the faithful, which surprised them and inspired them to convert.

Throughout his extraordinary life, Padre Pio was endowed with miraculous gifts and graces that touched the hearts of the faithful. His spiritual presence and prayers seemed to transcend the boundaries of ordinary reality, leading to many miraculous healings. The people touched by His intervention experienced physical and spiritual healing. Numerous accounts testify to how many faithful were healed thanks to Padre Pio's prayers.
His modest Capuchin habit and loving presence in the monastery became a drawing point for crowds who sought help and support. Padre Pio, with humility and trust, directed them towards the almighty power of God, who worked through him, making the lives of many people change in an extraordinary and lasting way. It is thanks to his gift of healing souls and bodies that Padre Pio became a true apostle of mercy and hope. His activity was not limited only to the monastery, but permeated all spheres of human life - countless stories describe the miracles that took place in various parts of the world at the request of his prayers.

People's faith in these miraculous interventions made Padre Pio an icon of hope for all those who needed support in their difficulties.
Padre Pio died on September 23, 1968. A devoted priest, miracle worker, and demon slayer, he touched so many people that about one hundred thousand people attended his funeral. Padre Pio was seriously ill in the last years of his life and his health was constantly deteriorating. He suffered from various ailments, including lung and heart diseases. After the Holy Mass was barely completed, on September 22, 1968, the 81-year-old saint almost collapsed as he left the church. A group of his Franciscan brothers helped him and put him in his bed. Shortly after midnight on September 23, he made his last confession and renewed his Franciscan vows. He was so weak that he could hardly speak, but he was able to repeat the words "Jesus, Mary" while clutching his rosary.

Suddenly, around 2:30 am, Padre Pio perked up a bit. His face, imbued with spiritual peace, expressed an experience inexpressible in words. He looked into the distance as if he had seen something unusual, although none of those around him saw any earthly signs of what could have fascinated him so much. This unique event added mystery and spiritual depth to his final moments. With the last of his strength, he uttered the words: I see two mothers, he whispered "Maria", then died. After these words, his spirit left his body, leaving everyone stunned and deeply reflecting on the mysteries of faith and life on the other side.

Padre Pio's last words, "I see two mothers" and then "Maria", left many mysteries and different interpretations. There are several possibilities as to what exactly he may have seen in his last moments of life. First, it is possible that Padre Pio experienced a mystical vision in which he saw his spiritual mother - Mary, Mother of God. Mary played a key role in his life, and perhaps in those last moments he received the special gift of experiencing her presence.

The second possibility is a reference to her biological mother, who was also named "Maria". Perhaps in his mystical vision he saw his earthly mother, who had left this world earlier and now welcomed him on the other shore. Another aspect may be a reference to the Church, which is the spiritual mother for all the faithful. The Church is the Mother who renews and nourishes the spiritual life of the faithful. It is possible that Padre Pio saw in his vision the magnificence and beauty of the Church as a spiritual Mother for his soul.

We do not know exactly what Padre Pio saw and experienced in those last moments, but his last words indicate a spiritual depth and relationship with the Mother of God. His mystical experiences have always been shrouded in mystery, which leaves us with awe and respect for his extraordinary spiritual life. His life and death were like a mystical journey that brought us even greater fascination and admiration for the mysteries of faith and the immortality of the soul.
