I’m not a fan of Crowley but I think a clarification is needed. My family tradition is of Orthodox Christianity and I am true to it, and I do attend church regularly but not religiously.

The two are not and never have been mutually exclusive.
There are records going back to the 1500s of folk magic practitioners who consider themselves good Christians and many to this day. I am actually reading some period pieces on this subject right now.
Heck there is even a book of basic spellwork you can order online published by a Catholic nun.
It is kind of similar to prayer. It is not specific to any particular faith.
