You are already loved and accepted by God. You do not have to win His favor, in order for Him to love you.

For those who so love the Lord, they naturally desire to please Him, yet we never have to earn Jesus' love or favor. He already loves us and proved it on the cross.

As his beloved creation, he provided a way for us to have heaven, though our sins have separated us from God the Father. But the good news is, we are not saved by "works" or good deeds, but by the work/performance Christ accomplished on the cross in saving us from the condemnation that sin placed on us.... only saved by His grace, which is unearned favor from God Almighty, as stated in Ephesians 2:8-9:

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast (that it was he who saved himself)."

You don't have to earn a gift, there's no such thing. However, you do have to receive it, in order to have it as your own. And the Giver does not automatically assume that you want it. You have to reach out and accept it, for the free gift it is.

If you make the choice to do nothing to receive the free gift, it will never be yours and you will not enjoy the benefits of it. The same goes for our soul. We must prepare our soul for heaven, or we'll not be able to enter into a holy heaven with sins on our heels. There is no sin in heaven, so we cannot be dragging our sins into it. We must accept Jesus' free gift of salvation and He promises to give us eternal life in heaven. I thank God for his free gift of salvation and the great sacrifice he made for me on the cross. He turns no one away. There's always room at the cross for one more.

Jesus' free gift of salvation, means that you can come to Jesus “exactly as yourself”, just as you are this very minute, with no modifications, secrets, additions, or changes. He loves and accepts you just as you are, because His great love for you is unconditional and forever. God completely accepts us as His children without any threat of being cast out of His family. John 3:16 and 17.

The lyrics of “Just As I Am” speak directly to the heart of the listener, acknowledging the doubts, fears, and conflicts that often accompany the journey of faith. Yet, the hymn reminds us that we can come to Jesus just as we are, without any plea or pretense, and find rest in His love and acceptance.

Just As I Am

Just as I am, without one plea
But that Thy blood was shed for me
And that Thou bid'st me come to Thee
Oh, Lamb of God, I come, I come

Just as I am, though tossed about,
With many a conflict, many a doubt.
Fighting and fears within, without,
Oh, Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve
Because Thy promise I believe
Oh, Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Jesus said today is the day of salvation and not to delay that decision.
