My wife is away making some arrangements with her sisters for a family wedding this coming week so went to the Wednesday Bible Study church.
A sister in Christ brought over some relatives from New York so it was great to meet them!
A prayer request for a brother in Christ who is long term unemployed- I could tell at fellowship afterwards it is really getting to him so your prayers would be appreciated!
Notes:
. Are we truly convicted? When we become convicted of sin for the first time, it is a fearful thing when we realise we fall short of God's glory.
. A great way to see our attitude to God is our attitude to reading his word every day- do we find our daily Bible reading exciting or tedious?
. Prayer and Bible reading are two sides of the ssme coin- we often quote scriptures in prayer and scripture often leads us to prayer.
. One reason why preaching the Gospel to family members is so difficult is because they know our flaws better than anyone else.
. Solution to the above about preaching the Gospel to relatives? Be bold like Paul- we are saved solely by God's grace, it is not about our faults but about the glory of the Gospel of Christ!
. Secular people can notice the changes- an outside contractor for a Christian company the elder works for, realised how much nicer the atmosphere was of a Christian company, compared to secular firms.
