Padre Pio is held to be a venerated saint in the Catholic Church. Italian for 'Father Pius'.

Did you know the Bible says that anyone who accepts Jesus as their Savior, is called "saint", and to call no man on this Earth, "Father", except your Father in Heaven?

In the Bible, 1 Corinthians 1:2 says, "to the church of God that is in Corinth, to you who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, the called saints, with all those everywhere who call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours". In this verse, Paul calls all believers "saints". The word "saint" is used 67 times in the New Testament, and it refers to ordinary Christians who have put their faith in Jesus Christ. Christians believe that all believers are saints because of their place in God's family.

Followers of Christ are both sinners and saints. All human beings are sinners because we are born in sin. But not all humans are saints. According to the Bible, a saint is not someone who has done wonderful things, nor is it someone who has been deemed a saint by a church or organization. The word translated “saint” in the New Testament, hagios, literally means “sacred, physically pure; morally blameless, ceremonially consecrated; holy, or sanctified.” In the context of New Testament passages, saints are those who belong to the body of Christ, saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8–9). In other words, saint is another word for a Christian, a true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Many years ago, I saw a segment on Padre Pio and right there I became fascinated by him and how the Lord performed miracles through this simple priest. 🙏✝️
@Barefooter25 I respectfully and caringly, would have to ask,

Does the Lord, as people believe, perform miracles through a Pope who teaches doctrine that teaches differently from God's Word?

The Bible warns against false teachings and doctrines that contradict God's Word. While God is sovereign and can work miracles as He chooses, the Bible emphasizes the importance of testing spirits and teachings against the truth of God's Word (1 John 4:1-6, KJV).

Jesus Himself warned against false prophets and false teachings, saying:

"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." - Matthew 7:22-23 (KJV)

Ultimately, God's miracles and workings are not dependent on human vessels, but on His own sovereignty and will. However, He also commands us to test all teachings and actions against His Word, and to reject any that contradict it.

@LadyGrace As far as I am concerned, Pope Francis is not a very popular. He is more concerned about enacting and enforcing progressive norms instead of following or teaching the word of Christ. The Pope is supposed to be the Vicar of Christ on Earth but he has failed to do that.
@Barefooter25

Well honey, the Bible says in Hebrews that after Jesus died on the cross, HE became our only Mediator between God and man and that priestly duties were no longer needed and ceased, because of that fact. Another thing to point out is that God the Father never gave priests today the authority to forgive sins nor mediate on behalf of the sinner, when that defeats the whole purpose of Jesus's dying on the cross and becoming our mediator between God and man.

@LadyGrace Jesus did say before his ascension to his disciples to go out and spread the good news and to go out and make disciples of men. The first example of this was during Pentecost when various tribes and travelers to Jerusalem all heard the various works and teachings of Christ in their own native tongue.
@Barefooter25 Absolutely! Your words have blessed my spirit so much, just at hearing them. I could feel the Holy Spirit the minute I read them. Yes he wants all of his disciples, even today, to be his spokesperson since his mission has been completed and he is sitting at the right hand of God the Father, symbolizing that he completed his mission with such humbleness, completeness, and sacrifice. Praise and glory belongs only to Him, who is Worthy.
