Farewell of the Apostles

I always think about what it must have been like for the people in the NT to say farewell to Paul, etc.

I can't stand the thought of leaving my area and the chapel I do Wednesday Bible study at- but even if that happened we all have cars, whatsapp videos, etc.

Imagine during Paul's time- after all the fellowship shared and memories shared with each other, the people wave Paul's ship off into the horizon, never to see him again.

But as Christians they knew they would see him again in heaven! They only had this hope through Christ's shed blood on the cross!

The apostles really had it rough back in those days. I mean they suffered a lot, but it was by choice, out of their great love for the Lord. They were even willing to die for him. That's how much they loved him and some did because they knew the truth of Jesus' message to the world. They wouldn't have done that, had they not known and believed the truth 100%.
