Christianity was a brilliant marketing strategy

Christianity came up with the most brilliant of marketing strategies. Create a religion using power control and fear to manipulate the population into believing that there is a Jesus Christ who died for their sins and is their savior. And to be provided financial support without paying any taxes. The Vatican is worth billions.

"Bankers’ best guesses about the Vatican’s wealth put it at $10 billion to $15 billion. Of this wealth, Italian stockholdings alone run to $1.6 billion, 15% of the value of listed shares on the Italian market. The Vatican has big investments in banking, insurance, chemicals, steel, construction, real estate. Dividends help pay for Vatican expenses and charities such as assisting 1,500,000 children and providing some measure of food and clothing to 7,000,000 needy Italians. Unlike ordinary stockholders, the Vatican pays no taxes on this income."

The Vatican is an actual country. No wonder the evangelicals are jealous. No tax free mega church can compete with the splendor of St Peters.

And the really twisted move is making contraception "morally wrong.' And that's because more Catholics means more money. Doesn't matter if people are dirt poor and can barely feed themselves. Make those babies happen. Grow the ranks and don't forget to feed the collection plate.

@Ynotisay Sister Teresa was a perfect example of that. Funneling money to the Vatican in the guise of helping the poor. You should read the true story of Sister Teresa she was a horrible person. All the money that Sister Teresa raised for Charity to help the poor very little of it went to actually helping the poor most of it was funneled to the Vatican. Millions
