Our Guiding Light

As an ardent follower of Jesus Christ, His presence illuminates every aspect of my life, guiding my actions and shaping my beliefs. The teachings of Christ resonate deeply within me, inspiring a profound sense of compassion, empathy, and love for all.

In the Gospels, we witness Jesus' unwavering commitment to healing the blind, both literally and metaphorically. His miraculous touch restored sight to those who were physically blind, but His compassion also extended to those who were marginalized and oppressed, offering them hope, dignity, and a renewed sense of purpose.

One poignant example is the encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well. Despite societal norms and prejudices, Jesus reached out to her with love and acceptance, recognizing her worth and offering her the gift of living water, symbolizing eternal life and spiritual fulfillment. In this beautiful exchange, Jesus transcended cultural barriers and embraced her as a beloved child of God, revealing His boundless love and grace.

Similarly, Jesus' interactions with the marginalized and outcasts of society exemplify His radical inclusivity and unwavering commitment to justice. He dined with tax collectors and sinners, demonstrating His compassion for those deemed unworthy by society's standards. His ministry was characterized by a relentless pursuit of righteousness and a fierce advocacy for the oppressed, challenging the status quo and calling for a transformation of hearts and minds.

In my own journey of faith, the love of Jesus Christ has been a guiding light, illuminating my path and filling my heart with hope and joy. Even amidst challenges and adversity, His presence remains steadfast, offering comfort and strength to persevere. My relationship with Jesus Christ has also deepened my commitment to living out His teachings in my daily life. Through acts of kindness, compassion, and service, I seek to embody His love and grace, extending His healing touch to those in need and standing up for justice and equality.

As for my partner, Adhil, his journey towards embracing Jesus Christ has been a testament to the transformative power of faith. Despite initial resistance, his heart was touched by the love of Christ, prompting him to embrace a new spiritual path. Together, we navigate life's challenges with faith as our anchor, drawing strength from our shared commitment to living out the teachings of Jesus Christ.

In the midst of my journey, there came a pivotal moment when my unwavering faith collided with the depth of my love. It was a time when my partner, Adhil, stood at the crossroads of tradition and transformation, grappling with the weight of his Islamic upbringing against the beckoning call of Jesus Christ.

With a heart open to understanding, Adhil embarked on a soul-searching quest, navigating the complexities of his spiritual identity with courage and conviction. In a testament to the power of love and the stirring of divine grace, he made the courageous decision to leave behind the familiar shores of his Islamic heritage and embrace the boundless love of Jesus Christ.

Yet, our journey was not without its trials. As Adhil, now Archie, embraced his newfound faith, we encountered resistance from his parents and family, who clung tightly to the traditions of their upbringing. But in the face of adversity, we stood united, guided by a shared commitment to faith, love, and the pursuit of truth.

Together, we weathered the storms of opposition, knowing that the love of Jesus Christ was our anchor and our strength. And as Archie embraced his new identity, shedding the constraints of his past, he emerged as a testament to the transformative power of faith and the enduring nature of love.

In every step of our journey, the presence of Jesus Christ has been our guiding light, illuminating our path with hope, grace, and unwavering love. And as we walk hand in hand, our hearts intertwined in faith and devotion, we embrace the promise of a future filled with boundless possibilities, anchored in the love of our Savior.

In moments of doubt or uncertainty, I find solace in the words of Jesus, knowing that His love endures forever and His grace is sufficient for every trial. He is the rock on which I stand, the source of my strength and my greatest comfort. Truly, I am blessed to walk in His light, guided by His love every step of the way.
You claim this and yet in your other post you claim to support LGBTQ rights, what rights do they not have?

I would agree with you if they were being persecuted by the government- imprisoned, etc but they have the same rights as everyone else.

You KNOW what the Bible says about LGBTQ issues and you KNOW what the Bible teaches on marriage.

@BritishFailedAesthetic I appreciate your perspective. When I express support for LGBTQ rights, I'm referring to the ongoing societal and cultural challenges that many individuals in the LGBTQ community face, including discrimination, lack of legal protections in certain areas, and stigma. While it's true that LGBTQ individuals have gained some legal rights in recent years, there are still areas where progress is needed to ensure full equality and acceptance.

Regarding the Bible's teachings on LGBTQ issues and marriage, interpretations vary widely among different religious traditions and individuals. While some may interpret certain passages as condemning LGBTQ relationships, others interpret them differently or emphasize broader themes of love, compassion, and inclusion.

Ultimately, my aim is to promote understanding, empathy, and respect for all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, while also acknowledging the diversity of beliefs within different religious communities.
@Carlam There is not much to interpret as the Bible is abundantly clear on the issue.

You cannot name any denomination of Christianity that accepted homosexuality and same sex marriages before the 1960s.

@jshm2 It's true that the concept of Christianity as we understand it today didn't exist during the time of Jesus and his immediate family. However, it's also worth noting that the teachings of Jesus often challenged existing beliefs and traditions, leading to a new understanding of spirituality for many. While his family may not have identified as Christians in the modern sense, they were undoubtedly influenced by his teachings and the movement he sparked. It's a fascinating aspect of history to explore, don't you think?

To be fair it didn't "illuminate" anything in the mother, father or half brothers of Jesus. Hence why they, like Jesus, were not Christians.
Isn't it amazing that so many people ignore the fact that Jesus was a Jewish priest who had nothing to do with Gentiles? So, if they worship him wouldn't it make sense for them to convert to Judaism? After all, he came into the world as the king of the Jews and he went out the same way.

Do you know a woman/Man Gloria by any chance? You exactly resemble her.
Carlam · 70-79, F
@DanielsASJ While I do have a friend named Gloria, I can't definitively say whether I resemble her or not. Regardless, I appreciate the compliment! If you're looking for someone specific, I'm afraid I can't help you there.

Thank.your for you and your husband's inspiring testimony of your faith in Christ.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. - John 3:16

@OverTheHill Thank you deeply for your kind words and for acknowledging the journey of faith that my partner, Adhil (now lovingly known as Archie), and I have embarked upon together. Your recognition means more than words can express.

Indeed, the passage from John 3:16 holds a profound significance in our lives, serving as a beacon of hope and a reminder of the boundless love that our Heavenly Father has for each and every one of us. It is through His sacrificial love, demonstrated through the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, that we find redemption and the promise of eternal life.

As for your charming mix-up, Adhil and I are partners on this journey of faith, though we haven't yet taken the leap into marriage. My beloved husband, Dave, rests in the arms of our Heavenly Father, his memory cherished and his spirit forever present in our hearts.

Thank you again for your thoughtful message and for sharing in the joy of our faith. May the love of Christ continue to guide and inspire us all on our respective journeys of faith. God bless.
