i read the KJV old to new. i am an atheist / most of my atheist friends have also read the Bible I glazed over psalams / sorta skipped that chapter.

i think some of the more interesting reads for bibilical writings are not in the KJV or NIV

for instance the book of Daniel in Luthern Bible Daniel slays a dragon. I mean can you have a religious book without some dragon slayen' in it?

The Infancy Gospel of Thomas / talks about teenage JC
I read parts of the book of Mormon before but long ago forgot about it.

When I first got into tech sales I went to a Hindu temple and Hindu Krishna is like JC but a much older religion--except one idea--he was playboy .However the structure was really similar. Genders were segregated during services and everyone sat on the floor. Hindu are beilevers in reincarnation as opposed to Heaven.

If you are open to comparitie religion as a topic here is a quick list (but not complete list) of Gods that died and were resurrected before the story of Jesus.

it is remarkable how much they borrow from one another.
