In 1955 Andrew- a Dutchman heard about the Iron Curtain- so he courageously went there- armed with gospel tracts!
When he arrived in the Communist Country he saw a church struggling- and he knew he had a calling from God!
He spent the next part smuggling bibles into the USSR, we can only imagine the memories he had of meeting the oppressed Church!
Today Open Doors, the charity he founded helps oppersed Christians in over 70 Countries across the world!

Onto the quote at the beginning- that is why I'm blessed to have my wife- she is happy for me to sacrifice some of my income to help the persecuted church and sacrifice things such as a nicer restaurant for our monthly date night, etc.
