Heartbreak and finding love in the persecuted Church

If you think being single and Christian is a struggle for you in the West, be prepared for this story, the Country is Turkey, the year 2007.

A young Turkish Chinese woman, we'll call her Asli, was longing to find a man, in Turkey with a small church and obviously no Christian dating apps this is no easy feat.

After ages of praying and longing for a husband she found a man, Uger Yuksel, but a few months before they were due to be married, he was murdered by extremists during the attack on a Christian publisher in Malatya in 2007.

Lonely, Asli was delighted when Release International workers came to visit her, she showed them videos of her late fiance Uger messing around and she enjoyed the company and dinner with them.

Well, the author had not seen Asli since- but he has heard she has know found happiness and is married, it must have delighted the worker to know his sister in Christ was no longer lonely!

If you are a single Christian, remember this story!

On a lighter note, my relatives told me this and it is so true, enjoy being single while you can.

Turkey used to be a relatively safe environment for Christians, but under Erdogan's presidency, the nation is shifting towards less secular governance. It's not illegal to practice Christianity in these regions, but openly sharing your faith can lead to persecution or discrimination.

Welcome back from your short hiatus.
@Justice4All Thanks, and thanks so much for your support on all my posts!

It is a shame as Turkey used to be a secular government but nutcase Erdogan doesn't want that....
