Jesus - of the story upon which Christianity is based - is what folks here say he is: Messiah, God, Son of God, whatever.
By the way, he is not the Messiah of the Jews who regard Jesus as a trouble-maker, and that was why King Herod tried to kill him off at birth and the High Priest of Jerusalem succeeded in getting Jesus crucified. In other words, the inclusion of Jewish scripture (Old Testament) in the Bible is wrong. Christianity must be based on Jesus' teaching which is fundamentally unique and nothing to do with the moral values and theology of Judaism, the religion of the Jews.
