Christianity a religion of peace?

King Olaf Tryggvason of Norway to the pagan folk or Orkney 995 AD:

"I order you and all your subjects to be baptised. If you refuse, I'll have you killed on the spot and I swear I will ravage every island with fire and steel."
- The Orkneyinga Saga Ch 12

It doesn’t sound all that different to the videos made by Islamic State ten years ago. Another poisonous Abrahamic religion…

Christianity is actually a war - a war between good and evil - call it poisonous if you like that is your right.

Christianity is judgment that one day will be fall all the human inhabitants of the Earth of past and present.

Jesus said he comes not to bring peace but to bring a sword - and the closer we get to the end of days the more violent people become.

And the Bible warns us *there will be no peace* until he who this planet rightfully belongs to comes back and takes it and ultimately destroys it. But judgment must be rendered first.

@SDavis It’s bullshit.

@Ceinwyn call It whatever You like - do you not have the right to believe as you choose to think as you choose and to mostly do as you choose?

Those who are alive and remain on earth when he comes back will be screaming alien invasion and trying to hide from him.

@SDavis He isn’t coming back. He’s a petty little foreign god from Judea who is only know to us because of Roman factionalism. He says “thou shall not kill” but encourages murder, he does not know good from evil and he has no power over me.

@Ceinwyn encourages murder _ I said believe what you want to believe - think what you want to think. As scripture says his words were The gospel must be preached to All Nations as a witness and then the end will come - and he used the very people that crucified him to do so. And there are actually no uncontacted nations in this world today - those that are considered uncontacted just refuse to associate with this so named civilized world. But that doesn't matter to you. And what is a God other than a supernatural/extraterrestrial being not of this Earth, according to the definition of the word.

@SDavis I’ll just wave goodbye to you and your dead god cult.
@Ceinwyn I think that is best.

The Bible, like everything else, is a type of Rorschach test. What you see is what you get, or as the zen master Dogen says:- "We are what we understand"
