Encounter with God

Hey guys, I recently had an encounter with God where I spoke in tongues in a powerful trance-like state. Afterwards, I understood Him as saying the words "you called me, here I am." I have been struggling to figure out what He is trying to say to me; please may you help with suggestions.

Why, out of billions of people desperately crying out for God all over the world, including in famine and war torn countries, or men, women and children dying from terrible diseases, would God decide he was going to talk to you...?

@Richard65 That is a good question.

The whole OP presupposes a total preoccupation with our little selves, our self-importance. To the exclusion of how we say it in the Dharma.........the myriad dharmas, the 10,000 things.

@Richard65 God has time and responds to all of those who seek Him. He is not limited or "preoccupied" by one issue over another

@Tatenda It is we who are preoccupied with our "selves".

@Tatenda you know that's unfounded garbage. There's literally millions of people living in abject misery who haven't heard anything from God. You risk the sins of pride and vanity in thinking God would choose you above all others to talk to.

@Richard65 Your ability to encounter is not based on your socioeconomic status, for then He would not have spoken to kings like David, and Malchizidek.

You may not have encountered his voice before and im not saying I saw him, I perceived him to be giving me a particular message, and that happens to every believer eho communicates with him.

@Tatenda so you're comparing your own import to that of King David and Malchizidek as worthy of receiving personal messages from God. Ok.

@Richard65 Why not? He/she/it is well known to be capricious and partial.

@Tatenda still doesn't answer my point that he'd choose to speak to you than millions of people who are in desperate need of his help. You also argue against my assumption that God would speak to those in dire poverty (I didn't assume that, I was talking about people trapped in war zones or dying of disease). But by making your statement you're proposing to know God's mind and what his motivation might be or might not be.

@Richard65 there's no need to argue, but literally, God speaks to millions, idk what you're talking about. I think you are being to literal in your definition of SPEAKS and maybe thats the confusion. God communicates every single day, in various ways like I said. Even to those in war zones, unless you're expecting some big miraculous show of his power.

But yes, He speaks. This isnt the first time I've encountered the Holy Spirit in a miraculous way, but yeah, thanks for your input though man, I appreciate you viewpoints

@Tatenda I said nothing about poverty nor about comparisons to any ,quite possibly mythological, person.

@ninalanyon no my response was directed to Richard's post, sorry

@Tatenda I guess he was too busy to answer the pleas of those murdered in the Holocaust.....unless he is antisemitic.
