Revelations of Divine Love

The words of Julian of Norwich, from her "Revelations of Divine Love":-

‘I saw truly that our Lord was never angry, and never will be. Because he is God, he is good, he is truth, he is love, he is peace; and his power, his wisdom, his charity and his unity do not allow him to be angry ... God is that goodness which cannot be angry, for God is nothing but goodness.’

More from Julian:-

For her, salvation is not, as in the Augustinian–Calvinist conception, an imputed righteousness bought by a transactional atonement that clears us of guilt, but rather consists in being ‘truly in peace and in love, for that is our salvation'. This is akin to the Eastern Orthodox conception of theosis, salvation as transformation into the finite ‘likeness’ of God'.

(John Hick, from "The Fifth Dimension")
