What will we do in heaven?

The Bible does not reveal all, for good reason, but does describe several of the eternal activities believers will be involved with in heaven. By looking at these activities, it is clear heaven will be an exciting place! Scripture confirms that Jesus, alone, holds the Keys to Heaven, and your faith, unlocks the door.

Scripture reveals that we will clearly worship the Lord. Revelation 5:13 shares, "And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, 'To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!'" This will include worship alongside angels, as well as believers from all ages and locations, from every nation and people on earth. The music, we shall experience in the very presence of our Creator, shall be beyond anything we can possibly imagine.

We shall feast with the Lord and His people: "On this mountain, the LORD of hosts will make for all peoples, a feast of rich food," (Isaiah 25:6). Other passages, note Jesus speaking of feasting or eating, in eternity future (Matthew 8:11; Luke 22:30).

We shall have a happy reunion with all other believers in heaven. This will include the saints of old, such as Abraham, Moses, and David. In addition, it will include being reunited with other believers, who are parents, grandparents, spouses, children, grandchildren, and other loved ones from whom we have endured painful separation in this life. This alone is exciting enough to greatly anticipate heaven.

We will celebrate for eternity. For those who enjoy parties, heaven will be the greatest party of all time. Revelation 19:9 and other places, describe the future Marriage Supper of the Lamb, as a time of great joy and celebration.
Nothing to hurt us or harm us or cause us any depression. Only love, peace, and joy, abide there.

In heaven "every curse will no longer be" (Revelation 22:3). We will not be under the curse of sin any longer, so everything we do, will be out of our love for God, untainted by our sin nature.

One thing we'lll do, is to learn. "For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor?" (Romans 11:34), "in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Colossians 2:3). God is the "the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity" (Isaiah 57:15). God is bigger than forever, and it will take eternity "to comprehend with all saints, what is the breadth and length and depth and height, and to know the love of Christ" (Ephesians 3:18-19). In other words, we will never stop learning.

God’s Word says we won’t have to be in His paradise alone. "I shall fully know, even as I also am fully known" (1 Corinthians 13:12). We will not only know our friends and family, we will "fully know" them. In other words, there is no need for secrets in heaven. There is nothing to be ashamed of. There is nothing to hide. Nothing to feel guilty about, because we will not be sinful there.

Jesus washed our sins away, when we asked him to be our Lord and Savior, so our conscience won't be able to bother us, and guilt, gone forever. There are no worries there and no death! We will have eternity to interact with... "a great multitude, which no man could number, out of all nations and kindreds and people and tongues" (Revelation 7:9). No wonder heaven will be a place of infinite learning. Just getting to know everyone, will take eternity!

Any further anticipation about what we shall do in God’s eternal heaven, will be far surpassed when "the King shall say to those on His right hand, 'Come, blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you, from the foundation of the world'" (Matthew 25:34). Whatever we will be doing, we can be sure it will be wonderful beyond our imaginations! However, the greatest thing about heaven, will be that we shall see, and be, with Jesus, Our Father, and the Holy Spirit.

The surroundings will be amazing. The descriptions of the new heaven, earth, and heavenly city in Revelation 21—22, provide a dazzling picture of the believer's future home, a pl
