It's from a pagan teaching.

@Digoutyoursoul the Bible teaches against pagans tho
Digoutyoursoul · 31-35, F
@Heavenlywarrior Yes it does. But the emperer Constantine wanted to stop the war between the Christians and Pagans of his time and so brought both beliefs into one new religion. This is how the Catholic church came about. Christmas is the date of worship of the Roman sun god, 25th Dec. That's just one.

The Diety being masculine, is not a pagan teaching, though. That would be the same as calling God a pagan, because that teaching comes straight from God's Word. God is incapable of lying or error. The date came from pagans, not Christians. Nowhere in the Bible does God say to worship the date he was born, but rather, worship the gift that was born. Scripture doesn't give His exact date of birth, for exactly that reason.
"But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you, than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." Galatians 1:8
We cannot read into the Bible, what we wish it said, because no other spiritual beings in heaven were mentioned in that conversation. The emphasis being, that God let us know it was He that was doing the conferring, and he alone....
Genesis 1 : 26 And God said, Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
NOT after the likeness of any other creatures in heaven or outer space. Further, he would not have been talking to the angels or any other creatures, not even principalities, because they do not have the power to create like God did. God wanted us to know that it was HE, and he alone, that created everything. No one else gets credit for that, and no one else deserves it.

You forgot to tell him that Christians don't claim December 25th to be Jesus' birthday. You said they do, but they don't. I am a Christian.

Only, historians explain that during the rain of the Roman Empire Constantine the Great, Christianity began to transition to the dominant religion of the Roman empire.
Constantine made Christianity the main religion of Rome, and created Constantinople, which became the most powerful city in the world. Emperor Constantine reigned over a major transition in the Roman Empire and much more.
Further, according to Constantine, a Christian cross appeared to him with the exhortation, "By this sign conquer."
Constantine subsequently ordered his soldiers to inscribe the cross on their shields, and when he did win the battle and became Roman Emperor, he converted to Christianity.

The Bible is a good historical document.
I guess that's why the Smithsonian Department of Anthropology said this about the Bible (referring to history).
"Much of the Bible, in particular the historical books of the old testament, are as accurate historical documents as any that we have and are, in fact, more accurate than many of the Egyptian, Mesopotamian, or Greek histories. These Biblical records are used as are other ancient documents in archeological work. For the most part, historical events described took place and the peoples cited really existed."
The scriptures were inspired by Ancient cultures and folklore regarding spiritual concepts and the Universe and Natural Laws

Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M

@LadyGrace due to a lot of smoke and mirrors there’s Lot of confusion and missing puzzle pieces that leaves us confused holding on to certain ideologies that don’t coincide with Nature.
