Has anyone prayed a novena?

A Novena is a period of prayer over 9 days or 9 regularly timed intervals eg weeks
Was it answered? That is a question that cannot be answered. God may have answered my prayers without giving me what I wanted, but by giving me what I needed.
A child asks his parents for something but is given something else. Were his requests answered? His parents would say, in a way, Yes. he or she would say No:)
In the Catholic tradition, we would say the prayers were answered.
The other benefit of a Novena is that it may kick start or reinforce your relationship with God.
All of this gives rise to people saying that this is a weak position saying that any prayer could be ignored, but we say it is answered.
