Christian Daily Word (16)
Daily Word for Christians...Here's the scripture to meditate on!
Proverbs 22:3 (NLT)
"A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences."
Analysis of the Daily Word
We must know how to identify situations that could harm us and then avoid danger. (Hebrews 5:14) For example, we must choose the entertainment well. TV shows and movies often contain immoral content. We Christians reject this kind of entertainment because it could weaken our love for God little by little. We know that God dislikes immorality and that people who lead immoral lives harm themselves and others. (Ephesians 5:5, and 6) We must also understand that the false information spread by apostates/false prophets is dangerous since with it they try to sow doubts about our brothers and sisters as well as about God's organization. (1 Timothy 4:1, and 7 | 2 Timothy 2:16) These lies could weaken our faith. Let's not be fooled by them, for they come from "men of corrupt minds who do not have the truth" and want to provoke disputes and controversies. (1 Timothy 6:4, and 5) They want us to believe their deceptions and mistrust our brothers and sisters.
What is devotion to God, and why is it necessary?
Let us cultivate devotion to God. A good soldier is loyal. He fights with all his might to protect someone he loves or something he values. Paul encouraged Timothy to cultivate devotion to God, that is, a feeling of love and loyalty toward him. (1 Timothy 4:7) The deeper these feelings are, the stronger our desire to get a firm grip on the truth. (1 Timothy 4:8-10 | 6:6)
