The Old Testament was translated into Greek and Aramaic, and probably other languages, before the time of Christ. After then the Bible was translated into Latin, Arabic, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Indian languages, Germanic, Gaelic, and on and on. English was a latecomer to the party. The first major translation into English was in the 14th century by John Wycliffe.

And then the writings are merely hearsay authored by a few men - not Jesus himself.

It's hard for me to comprehend The Bible is the word of God when there have been so many alterations.

No hating here - just an opinion.
@cuppatea Thank you for your reply. Many have echoed your response and I did too before I did more extensive research. Think about this: When a person goes to the post office to send/mail a SPECIAL package, they will usually purchase insurance on that item In case it is damaged or lost. They may ask that a tracking number be given to the recipient of their package so that they will know when to expect their special package/letter. They may even pay extra to send their package via Express over night. In other words this person has gone out of their way to make sure the recipient receives their special package. Sooooo, how much more so the Heavenly Father Jehovah, who created all things is able to preserve His Word the Bible without MAJOR changes from His purposed theme of the Bible.

With all due respect, he did a shit poor job.
Just look at how many people his word fails to reach, how many people who receive it disagree about what it says.
One would think an omnipotent being would leave a record that was unequivocal rather than one of the most disagreed upon collection of writings known to man even by people who believe it's true.
