A Sunday Word by Nathaniel #1
"Your voice matters, your heart too. Don't let the loudness of another person's opinion silence yours. Speak out." ~ Credit to @evolvewithanita on Instagram!
We are always in a position to influence those around us. What better way to do it than with our voices. Ecclesiastes 3:7 tells us that there is a time to keep silent and a time to speak. When?
From my interaction and fellowship with the Holy Spirit - prayers and studying of the scripture, we can discern, that it is best to be silent when we are angry, this is to avoid committing sin with our words.
However, our silence also is harmful when we are afraid, anxious, or lack the self-confidence to boldly speak the truth in love.
When you speak out the truth, you are giving justice to the weak, correcting oppression, and admonishing in wisdom. While at it, make sure you are doing it with the gentleness of the spirit, respect, and clear conscience. Colossians 3:17 (NLT) says: "Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ."
