an encouraging story of a missionary doctor in Africa- EBOLA

A fellow (a medical doctor) that attends church with me is from Russia. He was sent to Africa under the Soviet Union to be an medical ambasador. He was in Kenya when he met a couple from Canada. The Canadians were Mennonite Missionaries from Alberta. The doctor was Russian but was fluent in German and the Canadians also fluent in German. They soon became friends and often got together for meals and other social events. One day the Russian was convicted in his spirit and became a Christian. The Mennonites were only too happy to baptize him in the local river. He kind of laughs about it now but he said that as he came up out of the water he realized that he could never return to the Soviet Union. He never did. He did go back to Russia to visit his family after the Soviet Union ceased to exist but he lives in Canada.
