Sadly, people don't understand what "submission" truly means. They think of it in terms of master/slave. So when they come across passages that say wives submit..., they immediately stop reading and laugh.

The world (especially the Western World) worships the body. God says that real beauty should come from within. That way all will be satisfied. Things put on the body (make-up, jewelry, clothing) can never make the inward person "beautiful".
