Chronicles of a Christian Teen #6
Cyber Bullying?
In a world of technology that is constantly advancing, it is scary to think of the negativity that can come from its conformity to society. It is so easy to hide behind a screen. Bullies find it easy to feel powerful as they hide behind these screens, using them as masks. The goal is to make others feel powerless, and technology, especially social media, gives many bullies an easy platform.
Unfortunately, cyberbullying is so gut-wrenching that people can essentially say, do, or post anything they want on social media, directly or anonymously, without fear of consequences. Cyberbullying is psychological torture. A public display of humiliation is extremely hurtful and embarrassing, which brings about a constant worry that more things will be posted or said online after the initial post.
No matter what is said or done against you, even on such advancing and scary platforms, don't measure your worth in the things others criticize you for. Most oftentimes, these bullies result in bullying over social media because they are insecure about themselves, and are cowards. Bringing others down to gain attention is uplifting for no longer than a short moment. Don't ever forget, loved one, that you are so worthy and oh, so valuable through Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Through his ransom sacrifice, you were able to live yet another day on this Earth, that says a lot about how both Jesus and God love you dearly.
What those bullies fail to realize is that earthly worth is temporary, but favor in God's eyes is eternal. Bullies refuse to recognize the truth, they try to rationalize bullying as a "way out" of their insecurities. My child, Jesus paid for ALL of our sins & destroyed ALL of our insecurities on the cross. He saved you then, what do you think He won't rescue you now? Our Heavenly Father Jah reassures you of that promise by not just sending his son, Jesus Christ as a ransom but through these words found in Isaiah 41:10 (NLT) which says: "Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand."
David even gives us an experience that he shared in Psalm 109:1-4 (NLT) that reads: "My God, whom I praise, do not remain silent, for people who are wicked and deceitful have opened their mouths against me. They surround me with hateful words and fight against me for no reason. In return for my friendship, they accuse me, but I am a man of prayer." Verse 28 says: "While they curse, may you bless; may those who attack me be put to shame, but may your servant rejoice. Verse 31 responds with, "He stands at the right hand of the needy, to save their lives from those who condemn them."
Ephesians 6:10 (NLT) says: "Be strong in your God and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's strategies." Verse 16 says: "In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one." With Good and Jesus Christ as your side, you will always be protected.
If you need to take precautions to limit your worries, please do so! It's so worth it to block or unfriend someone you do not need to be friends or associate yourself with on social media. You will find more relief in removing those who do not fit per se and respect your moral values that reflects Jesus and God's standards. Continue to maintain your trust and full faith in those who will fight for you til the end of this wicked system of things.
Amen 😇❤️🌹
