Why Would A Christian Do This?

Discourage other Christians from telling the world about the rapture of the church and the 7 year of tribulation written in scripture reserved for those left behind?

Simple.

They're not living right and aren't sure they'll make it on the first flight. They get uncomfortable hearing about the rapture because they're so comfortable living a life of sin.

Did I leave anything?

Well if you are a Christian who does not believe in the pre-tribulation rapture doctrine then that would motivate you to discourage other Christians from sharing the pre-tribulation rapture doctrine..

For instance while i believe in the Rapture i do not believe in the pre-tribulation rapture doctrine.. I believe the rapture will happen on the day of the second coming of the LORD Jesus and not before it..

As for taking part in the rapture that does not depend on one ""Living Right"" It depends on one being a true Believer in God and trusting in the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ.. And yes it all depends if one is also still alive on earth on the Day of the return of Jesus..
