Why Would A Christian Do This?

Discourage other Christians from telling the world about the rapture of the church and the 7 year of tribulation written in scripture reserved for those left behind?

Simple.

They're not living right and aren't sure they'll make it on the first flight. They get uncomfortable hearing about the rapture because they're so comfortable living a life of sin.

Maybe because they are actual good Christians that can mind their own business and don't have to go out selling a product through fear mongering.
