Why Would A Christian Do This?

Discourage other Christians from telling the world about the rapture of the church and the 7 year of tribulation written in scripture reserved for those left behind?

Simple.

They're not living right and aren't sure they'll make it on the first flight. They get uncomfortable hearing about the rapture because they're so comfortable living a life of sin.

Yes, we know that Jesus is coming soon, and that is good news to all born again. However, some people who we know, and love might not love Jesus. It is scary to think they will have judgment towards them. But if someone proclaims to love Jesus and yet not look forward to Jesus coming it might also be a huge indication, they aren't saved at all.

@Carazaa "Born again" Christians are the most annoying for this reason. 🤣 If Jesus were actually coming during my lifetime I'd be very excited. But that's just not true. 500 years is minimum.
