Chronicles of a Christian Teen #3
Waiting for Love?
All of us have seen those movies, watched those tv shows, and read those books. The ones that make us laugh, make us cry, and ache for the kind of love portrayed. We all desire a relationship and we all want to be loved.
We feel incomplete without love because we feel empty, we become impatient, so quick to get into relationships that may or may not be right for us...or relationships we may not be ready for. We place a lot of value on love, so why are we willing to settle?
God designed us to love and be loved. However, God has made everything beautiful in its time. We can't foolishly rush into something God has not yet finished preparing us for.
Proverbs 4:23 (NLT) says: "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows with it." Hears are so powerful, yet hearts are so fragile. They hold the greatest potential to love if it is true but have the greatest susceptibility to break if it is pre-mature.
Songs of Solomon 8:4 (NLT) says: "Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires."
Whether you know if it is true or not is between you and God, but know this, my dear brothers and sisters. He has the most amazing plans for you and your future relationship. He will reveal it to you at the perfect time when He knows both you and your significant other will be ready.
I know, it's easy to become impatient in the waiting, but soon you will see that the wait was so worth it. Patience and trust in our Heavenly Father. As you wait, remember that God is preparing you along the way. Above all else, even in relationships, God needs to come first.
The First Commandment is, "You shall have no other gods." We should not, therefore, hold anything or anyone in God's place.
He needs us to recognize that yes, although relationships are great, no one could ever love you just as much as God does. Romans 5:8 (NLT) says: "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Strengthen your relationship with God in the waiting. This way, you can get into a pattern that will set you up and prepare you for keeping God first, both now and in your future relationship. Lastly, pray for your future spouse, their faith, and their heart. Pray that God will bring you two together according to His will.
Amen 😇❤️🌹
