Chronicles of a Christian Teen #2

Priorities?

It is common to feel overwhelmed in this world. You may feel extremely busy and too caught up in distractions. It may seem like you don't have time for anything else, even God.

Sometimes we push God off to the side and place other things ahead of Him, whether that be school, friends, work, extracurricular activities, etc.

Maybe even after a long, hard day, you tell yourself you will pray and talk to God before bed. However, in a tired state, you end up falling asleep before doing so.

Could it be even that your mind wanders as you are praying? I know that I am guilty of doing both.

Although you may be busy or overwhelmed, it is oh so important to remember who should truly be your priority. Matthew 6:33 (NLT) says: "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you." If you are worried about things or overwhelmed about getting things done, remember that if you put God first, everything you are currently stressed out about will be taken care of, and everything you are hoping for will be given to you as well.

Speaking of gifts, God gave you the gift of time, so dedicate that time back to Him. Maybe that means talking to Him in prayer. Could it also mean dedicating a little time out of your day to study and preach the good news of the kingdom? It could also mean spreading His Word, reminding someone that God's son Jesus loves them when they are struggling. Maybe it means choosing to listen to encouraging and inspiring music that will lift your faith up high.

Psalm 31:4 (NLT) says: "Pull me from the trap my enemies set for me, for I find protection in you alone". It is extremely valuable to stay connected with God through His Word because it strengthens faith. Romans 10:17 (NLT) says: "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the Word of Christ".

You can even praise Him throughout the day just by the way you live. When others see you, do they see Him? Conduct yourself in a Christian manner - loving and kind, peaceful, and humble. Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT) says: "On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. Against such things, there is no law."

Live every day developing all of the qualities based on this scripture, applying them to our daily lives. In other words, we must learn how Jesus thinks and then imitate him. Jesus displays the fruitage of God’s spirit perfectly. Like a flawless mirror, he reflects God's qualities just as they are.

Amen 😇❤️🌹
I really enjoyed reading this. I see myself in it and I know I need to change. I’m on a quest this year to draw closer to Jesus.
