A Little thing I read once that I enjoy

“When my 23 year old son, Gregory, was little I was holding him and he was facing me. He said the most beautiful thing to me — “I can see Greggy in your eyes.”

I was holding him so close that he could see himself reflected in my eyes. It made me think then, and many times since, of how God holds us so closely that we can see ourselves in His eyes. God says about the people of Israel — “they are the apple of My eye.”

God has proved to me over and over for these last 31 years (though a terribly self-obsessed and beleaguered believer) that I am precious to Him.

Only He knows why, but to this I testify— if He loves a wretch like me (and I know to the marrow of my bones that He does) then I know that He loves you (no matter who you are, what you’ve done, or what has been done to you).

His relentless love will never stop pursuing you and I pray whoever you are and wherever you are, one day you will see that is the best news ever.”
